The Challenge - Day 7

Today I really enjoyed the challenge, and the outfit! I finally got round to wearing a vintage shirt dress I got from Shrewd a small lifetime ago. Granted its not my usual style, for starters its not red or black, and I don't tend to show of my knobbly knees, but I really liked this, I will definitely be busting this out again, though obviously after the end of the challenge.

Unsurprisingly, its not the easiest task to get a good picture when you have no one to help you, but this shall do:

I'm also wearing a George cardigan, a plain black strappy top from New Look, the belts creator is unknown, a present from my parents, and a vintage glass bead necklace, also from Shrewd originally (though I got it in my Advent Calendar, courtesy of Mummy Shrewd).

I actually curled my hair last night (blog post on this also to follow in the near future), though I did just messily put it up with a flower from Collectif. For someone who has dead straight, flat hair, its nice to be able to do that.

Putting On A Face

As I was getting ready today, I thought I might as well do a little make-up post, I'm not brave enough for a video (yet)

My routine is more or less the same everyday, though I occasionally change my lipstick, and sometimes have more, sometimes less eye stuffs... so in this one, there is more.

These are the things I use:

Rockalily Lipstick in Roulette Red, Liberty Eyeshadow Palette, Soap & Glory Arch De Triumph, Maybelline Kohl Pencil in Brown, 17 Blusher in China Pink, Max Factor 2000 Calories, Boots Eyelash Curlers

Eyeshadow Palette as above, MAC Fortified Skin Enhancer, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 1, 17 Shine Control Pressed Powder in Neutral, MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation in NG25

When it comes to moisturising, I either use Soap & Glory Bright Here, Bright Now, which as a little bit of sheen to it, and makes my face lovely and smooth, but when I have enough time to let it sink in, I use a bit of Bepanthen, seeing as I have crazy dry skin.

I apply MAC Skin Enhancer to my nose and cheeks first, followed by my foundation, both with a make-up sponge, I don't really get on with make-up brushes to well, I realise sponges waste more, but I can live with that. Before the powder, I follow with some concealer around my eyes, and depending on how spotty I am, some around my face.

As you can see from the pictures, I don't have much in the eyebrow department (hopefully this will change soon - keep your eyes peeled), I draw these on with a kohl pencil, sadly I haven't found this particular one in this country, so I stock up when I'm in Germany.

I use Arch de Triumph by Soap & Glory, just under the arch of my eyebrows, followed with a shiny white eyeshadow, and a slight pinky one all over the lid, and a little bit along the bottom lash line.

I usually put a darker colour, anything from grey, browns, or something a bit more colourful in the crease, depending on my outfit, in this case I have gone for a dark purple colour. I add some liquid eyeliner, in this case a Rimmel one, and flick it out to the end to create cate eyes, as well as some extra lines above the flick, to create a fake eyelash effect. I then line the bottom with a black pencil liner.

After curling my lashes, plenty of mascara, and I'm practically good to go. All thats missing is some lipliner and some red lipstick, and voila:

The Challenge - Day 6

I admittedly only got dressed very briefly, seeing as I am off from work sick today, but this has also given me a chance to prepare for a make-up and hair post, one of these (at least) will probably go live later too.

I basically chose my outfit based on what I was doing with my hair/make up, and chose something I liked, but I was unlikely to be able to wear within the challenge, lets face it, UK weather is unlikely to become summer dress like :(

This is a Collectif dress I scooped up before I started working there. With the current amount of lumps and bumps I am carrying around, it sadly isn't the most flattering, though it does seem to give me ample cleavage, which is not as nature intended. :) The velvet rose belt is also from Collectif, I got the satin headscarf from Shrewd in Dorking, and its usually my go to headscarf when the rollers are in, like now!

Off I go, back to my sofa, chocolate, and getting one of the other posts ready for your (hopeful) enjoyment.

The Challenge - Day 5

Wednesdays is date night in this household, and even though we always plan to make use of Orange 2-4-1 Wednesdays, we always get dragged (not in a literal sense) into TGIs, because frankly, we love it. Sadly today we didn't have our favourite waiter, so it wasn't as great as always, however, as I am not a side salad only kinda gal, I am so full I appear pregnant with toddler twins, hence no full on pictures. Trust me, no one wants to see that.

Not an outfit I entirely loved, but that could also be to do with a long, wet day.

The trousers are actually skinny jeans from Primark (they're light grey), which I chopped and sewed into 3/4 lengths, my favourite kinda jeans. As I have proper calfs, most produced 3/4 lengths don't fit me, so I always buy cheap stretchy skinnies and make them into what I want.

I'm also wearing a black and white western style Collectif shirt, which will, within the remaining 45 days also make an appearance in red:

A plain New Look wife beater type thing, and I was wearing a black George at ASDA, waisted cardigan. Although me wearing it has given the cardigan immunity, it still needs to go. It sits weirdly and is roughly as flattering as a garbage bags, even wearing it tied at my waist didn't help, so once I have taken anything useful, such as buttons, from it, it is "Adieu Cardigan!" o'clock.

Shoe wise, I was wearing some adorable Schuh grey pumps, which I love, but haven't yet worn it, thus they still come with great pain:

I shall endeavour to wear them more!

As it seems to rain whenever I'm wearing 3/4 lengths, I'll try and send out prior warning :)

The Challenge - Day 4

It's been a long old day, left at 7.30am and got back at midnight, lots of uni, lots of work. It's tired o'clock!

Therefore, only a quick little post of outfit joy.

Collectif Cardigan, Skirt and T-shirt both H&M, who I love for cheap basics, the skirt was less than a fiver, clearly a winner :)

Good night for now, tomorrow I shall have more x

The Challenge - Day 3

I've been putting off uploading a post, and with that, pictures all day. Today was one of my rare days off, spent at home, doing fuck all, whilst I should have been doing lots of work. So, even though I have had a shower, I'm wearing no make-up, my hair is straight, uninteresting, and in a scruffy bun, and I am wearing PJ's. But, I signed myself up for this challenge, so here it is. Though I have taken the slightly easier route of taking a few pics of the clothes, and one cheaty picture of me (its black and white, to hide the multitudes of sins currently happening on my face). I just couldn't face a full frontal shot, so to speak.

But, without further ado, here is my favourite hoodie (from my hometown), my La Senza PJ bottoms, and me complete undone. Don't judge - at least not too much :)

The Challenge - Day 2

I've never been one to dress weather appropriately, but today I really wish I had. After a wet and cold to hour journey to work (it usually takes under an hour), I was very much regretting rolling up my jeans 3/4 style, and I did actually wear them in the regular fashion on the way home.

But, here is Day 2 of the challenge:

As you can see, I am a) at work and b) somewhat blending into the chaise, which sadly isn't mine :( but I'm working on it!

Again, nothing spectacular, but I like the outfit in a comfy yet wildcat kind of way :) Old new look jeans (and with fat pants, I actually still fit into them), a grey Primark strappy top, a Collectif Leo Cardigan in grey, Schuh Leopard print pumps, and the headband was a present from the man meat (he knows me so well).

Let's hope the next 47 days work out this well (in terms of ease at least, comfort would be great too, but I still have some awkward clothes in the wardrobe).
